Her pale blue eyes no longer
saw the colours of the world,
no longer viewed the bluebell sky
as it merged with the dark blue sea.
But, within her mind's eye,
colours remained vibrant,
just as she had first seen them, as
nature had intended them to be.
She had witnessed the rise of the sun
in a sky shot golden and pink;
had watched that same sun setting
making way for the darkness.
